Ashley George
Director of the Strategic IT portfolio for Discovery, GlaxoSmithKline
Ashley George started his career as a Chemist, but quickly found out that his practical skills would not carry him through his career. Thereafter he moved to do a Computational Chemistry PhD with Professor John Meurig Thomas and Professor Richard Catlow and the Royal Institution in the area of heavy petrochemicals industry. During his subsequent career, he has worked for Ciba Geigy, SmithKline Beecham, start up Biotech which reverse IPOed to become a PLC, then GlaxoWelcome and is now with GlaxoSmithkline as Director of the Strategic IT portfolio for Discovery.
Paul McKenzie
Global Head, Pharmaceutical Development & Manufacturing Sciences, Johnson & Johnson
Paul McKenzie, Ph.D. leads the Pharmaceutical Development & Manufacturing Sciences (PDMS) organization. PDMS is responsible for the development, clinical supply, marketed product support, and technical life-cycle management of chemical and biologic pharmaceutical products. He is also a member of both the Global Development Organization and GPSG Leadership Teams.
Paul has both R&D and supply chain experience working with both large and small molecules. Prior to this role, Paul led the BIO PD & MPS organization as Vice President, Biologics Pharmaceutical Development and Marketed Product Support. Paul came to Johnson & Johnson from Bristol-Myers Squibb (BMS), where he was Vice President and General Manager of the BMS large-scale cell culture facility in Massachusetts. Paul was previously Vice President, Technical Transfer Governance Committee, at BMS, and before that, Executive Director of Process Research & Development & Technology Transfer; and Director, Pilot Plant Operations, with BMS.
Jason Bronfeld
Executive Director, Preclinical & Pharmaceutical Development Informatics, Bristol-Myers Squibb
Jason Bronfeld received his BS and MS in mechanical engineering with an emphasis on biomechanics from Rutgers University. He spent the first half of his career working for companies that produced software for computer-aided design, engineering and manufacturing. These included Prime Computer Corporation, Computervision Corporation, Structural Dynamics Research Corporation and Parametric Technologies Corporation. He has been granted two patents related to software algorithms and user-interaction paradigms. In 1998 he joined Bristol-Myers Squibb. His first five years were spent in Drug Discovery Informatics in various roles. He currently is the Executive Director of Preclinical & Pharmaceutical Development Informatics. In this role, he is responsible for the development, delivery and management of IM related business capabilities supporting the 12 primary functions within the Preclinical & Pharmaceutical Development organization.
